How to Install Latest Windows Update on Your PC
Microsoft rolls out version updates for Windows with new features every year. So, if you wish to enjoy the latest features, you may install the latest Windows update on your PC. For Windows 10, version 22H2 is probably the final version. However, Windows 11 still has a long way to go. But Microsoft now releases a new version yearly (instead of half yearly).
After testing the features via the Windows Insider Program, Microsoft rolls them out to the general users via Windows update in a staggered manner. So, when Microsoft releases a new update, it may not be available for everyone.

How to Get the Latest Windows Update on Your PC
Ideally, you’ll automatically get a notification about the available update when it is rolled out for you. However, if you don’t receive the notification and can’t wait to install the latest Windows update, you can always download it manually. Just follow the methods explained below.
Method 1: Check for Updates Manually
First of all, check for any notifications in Windows Update settings. If you do not see any notifications asking to install the latest Windows update, you can manually check for the available Windows update.
Windows 11: Go to Settings > Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button.
Windows 10: Go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button.
You may need to check for updates twice if it doesn’t show a new update after the first attempt. The download size may vary depending on your hardware and the existing version of Windows installed on your PC.

Method 2: Download Latest Windows Update from Microsoft.com
If the Windows Update method didn’t work for you, don’t worry, you can also download the latest Windows 11 or Windows 10 update from the official website.
To download the latest update, go to the Windows 10 or Windows 11 download page on Microsoft’s website and use the Update Assistant tool for Windows 10 and the Installation Assistant tool for Windows 11.
You can use this method if you are unable to install Windows latest update via Windows Update. Or maybe because Windows Update errors are preventing you from installing it.
To start updating using Windows 10 Update or Windows 11 Installation Assistant tool, click on the blue button. After downloading, launch the assistant to start the update process.

Method 3: Use the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool
Finally, if both of the methods mentioned above don’t work for you, you can also get the latest Windows Update by using the Media Creation Tool from the same Microsoft page used in the second method.
Just click on the Download Tool Now button to download the Media Creation tool on your computer.
Now, launch the media creation tool. If you are using Windows 10, you can select the Upgrade this PC Now option to install the latest Windows 10 update.
However, on Windows 11, you can’t upgrade directly using the Media Creation Tool. You will have the option to create a bootable USB or download the ISO file to install the latest update.

Get the Latest Windows 11 or 10 Update on Your PC Right Now
If the Latest Windows Update has been released already but you didn’t receive the notification for installing it, you can simply use any of the methods mentioned above.
It’s a good idea to wait for a few days before installing a new update after release as it might have some bugs which are usually fixed after the initial release.
However, if you can’t wait to install the latest Windows update on your PC, you can get it right now by using any of the methods explained above.
