How to Change TWRP Recovery Language to English

TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP) is one of the most common Custom Recovery used in Android phones. But if you have installed TWRP Recovery for the first time, you may see some weird language in the TWRP Recovery interface. The interface language of TWRP Recovery may be Russian, Chinese, or any other depending upon the package you installed. So, you might need to change the TWRP Recovery language to English before you start to use it.

Now, if the language of TWRP Recovery is not your native language, you can set it to any other language that you understand, say English. After that, you can easily continue doing your stuff like installing custom ROMs or wiping your device.

Change Language in TWRP Recovery from Russian or Chinese to English

So, in this tutorial, we will show you, how to change language in TWRP Recovery from any other language to English. By other language we mean any language other than English, like Russian, Chinese, etc. You simply need to follow these steps.

Step 1: Go to TWRP Recovery and tap Settings

When you enter recovery mode after installing TWRP custom recovery, you may see some unrecognizable language. You may see something like this as shown below. So, on the initial screen, check the box as shown in the image below and swipe to the right to go to the TWRP home screen.

After that, you will see TWRP Recovery’s home page. Here, you can see 8 buttons each one for a different setting but in an unrecognizable language. Now, tap on the sixth button to open Settings and change TWRP Recovery Language to English.

Step 2: Change Language in TWRP to English

Now, you will see the Settings page showing multiple tabs. Tap on the last TAB which is for changing the interface language of TWRP Recovery.

Here, you will see the list of available languages for the TWRP interface. So, select English from the list and tap on the button shown in the bottom right corner to set Language. This will change the TWRP Recovery language to English.

Step 3: TWRP Recovery Interface in English

Now, you have successfully changed the TWRP Recovery language from Chinese or Russian or any other unrecognizable language to English. Now you can start doing your stuff.
