How to Uninstall Remix OS from Your PC

Remix OS is based on Android Marshmallow 6.0 and has good graphics. You can install it alongside Windows. But some people may not like this Remix OS or their computer might fail to boot from Remix OS. So, if you are also facing such issues, you can uninstall Remix OS from your PC.

Uninstalling Remix OS is as simple as uninstalling any other program. But you can not uninstall Remix OS from the Control Panel like other programs. We will use a special uninstallation utility provided by Remix OS itself.

Completely Remove Remix OS from your PC

So, in this tutorial, we will show you how to uninstall Remix OS from your PC without losing your existing Windows installation.

Step 1: Boot to Windows 10

First of all, boot to Windows instead of Remix OS on your PC. You can do so by choosing the Windows option on Startup.

After selecting the Windows 10 option on startup, your PC will boot to Windows.

Step 2: Run Remix OS Uninstaller

Now, go to the directory where you installed Remix OS. You will see a folder named “RemixOS” in that drive.

Open this folder and double-click on the UninstallRemixOS.exe application.

You may also see the UAC prompt. So, click Yes when you see the UAC prompt.

Step 3: Uninstall Remix OS and Delete Folder

You will see a dialog box asking you about uninstalling Remix OS from Your PC. Click OK to continue uninstallation.

After successful uninstallation, you will see a confirmation dialog box, click OK to continue.

Setup has removed the startup boot menu and other files from your system. In case the startup boot menu is still showing the entry for Remix OS, you can remove this additional entry via the “MSCONFIG” utility.

Though the setup has removed the boot menu entry installation files are not removed automatically. So, we have to delete these files manually. Select the RemixOS folder and delete it permanently and you will be done.

Step 4: Restart your PC

Now, Remix OS has been uninstalled completely from your PC. It’s time to reboot your PC to test if the uninstallation of Remix OS was successful or not.

On restarting your PC, you won’t see any boot menu to select between Windows and Remix OS. Your PC will directly boot to Windows.

Remove Remix OS from your PC without Losing Your Windows
