How to Switch to Local Account in Windows 10
Windows 10 allows users to connect their Microsoft accounts for enhanced security and settings synchronization. And it is quite easy to sign in with a Microsoft account. However, if the Microsoft account doesn’t suit you, you can always switch back to the Local account in Windows 10. Simply go to account settings in Windows 10, and click “Sign in with local account instead“.
When you switch back to the local account, you will lose all your Microsoft Account’s settings. You will also have to create a new local account if not present already. So, if you already had a Local account before switching to Microsoft Account, you can simply use that account.

Switch from a Microsoft Account to a Local Account in Windows 10
So, in this tutorial, we will show you how to switch back to the Local Account from a Microsoft Account. The steps are quite simple. Let’s go through the process.
Step 1: Open Accounts Settings
Go to the Start menu and click on Settings to open the Windows 10 settings page.
Next, in the Settings window, click on the Accounts to open the account settings page.
Step 2: Sign in with a Local Account instead
In the Accounts settings window, you will see your Microsoft account details on the right side. Below that you will find two links; Manage my Microsoft account and Sign in with a local account instead. So, click on the second link to switch to the local account from Microsoft account on your Windows 10 PC.
You will be asked to confirm to switch to a local account, click Next to confirm.
Step 3: Enter your PIN and Setup your Local Account
After you click Next, you will be prompted to enter your PIN. So, enter your PIN and the popup will disappear automatically after you enter the correct PIN.
Next, you will set up your local account. If you already had a local account before switching to Microsoft Account, you can create a password for it.
If you don’t have any local accounts, you can enter the details and click Next to create a local account. Windows will use this account to log in after you switch from a Microsoft account to a local account.

Step 4: Sign out from Microsoft account
We are almost here. Just one click and you will be signed out of your Microsoft account. So, click on Sign out and finish to sign out of your Microsoft account and log in with the local account.
Your Microsoft account will be logged off. Windows 10 will redirect you to the login screen where you can sign in with your local account. Simply enter your credentials and you are good to go.
